Stir-Fry with Udon Noodles with Beef and Broccoli - Fast Food Recipes
I recently spied upon a new product while strolling the aisles of my grocery store - udon noodles.  The long, fat, and round Japanese noodles hold up well to a quick stir fry or as a staple in soup.  Taking only minutes to prepare, they are the star of Sir Fry Udon Noodles with Beef and Broccoli.

After a quick 15 minute marinade in a sweet and salty mixture, a few slices of beef tenderloin are seared in a hot wok.  Next, fresh red peppers and mushrooms along with the crisp broccoli florets take a stir fry around the pan.  The udon noodles and a sauce highlighted by honey and savory oyster sauce are mixed in with the vegetables.  Added back in is the beef for a final quick reheat, and the Asian noodle dish is ready to serve.

This is a quick, simple, balanced and flavourful meal. Very nice!..

Ingredients:

  • Beef Fillet -
  • Udon Noodles -
  • Broccoli -

Marinade

  • Garlic - 4 cloves.
  • Ginger - 1 inch.
  • Green Bullet Chilli - 1
  • Soy Sauce - 1 Tbsp.
  • Oyster Sauce - 1 Tbsp.
  • Lemon Juice - 1 lemon.
  • Sugar - 2 tsps.
  • Sesame Oil - 1 tsp.

Sauce

  • Warm Water - 1 cup.
  • Honey - 3 Tbsps.
  • Soy Sauce - 1 Tbsp.
  • Oyster Sauce - 1 Tbsp.

Instructions:
Beef Marinade.

  • Grate Garlic, Ginger and chop the Chilli.
  • Combine the Garlic, Ginger, Chilli, Soy Sauce, Oyster Sauce, Sugar, Sesame Oil & Lemon Juice in a bowl.

Sauce.

  • Combine Water, Honey, Soy Sauce, Oyster Sauce in a bowl. Stir.
  • Cut Beef into strips.
  • Mix the strips with the marinade. Let it marinate at room temperature while you prepare the other stuff.
  • Boil the Noodles in salted water for 4 minutes or until just almost done. Remove and rinse the noodles with cold water to prevent them from sticking with each other.
  • Cut the Broccoli into florets and steam for 4-5 minutes. (I steamed mine by placing a stainless steel colander with the Broccoli, on top of a pot with a little boiling water.) Set aside.
  • Heat frying pan or wok on high heat and add a little vegetable oil.
  •  When the oil is hot, stir-fry the Beef Strips for 1-2 min. Beef fillet dries out quickly thus cooked shortly.
  • Add the Broccoli. Cook 1 min.
  • And finally add the Sauce and Noodles. Cook 1 min. Done!..
  • Enjoy! :-)
