Ground black pepper(kuti hui kali mirch) – 1 tsp or to taste
Salt – 1 tsp or to taste
Step 1 – Cut the potatoes into round slices about 1 cm thick. Discard the smallest pieces from both ends. The pieces have to be broad and thick enough to be stacked together
Step 2 – To make at least 4 stacks, place 4 slices of potato next to each other (as a base). Add salt, onion, cheese and cream on each piece. Follow it up with another layer of potato slices on top, salt, onion, cheese and cream making a stack. Then lastly, complete stack with another layer of potato.
Step 3 – In a pan, heat oil, and place the stacks carefully in it. (You can push the stack to corners of the pan so that they get support and do not break or fall) Cover with lid and allow it to cook, on medium flame for 5 minutes till brown. Turn gently and cook the base of stack for another 3-4 minutes till brown. Cover with lid.
Step 4 - Garnish with chilli flakes and serve hot.
